COVID-19 Safety Update

To our Valued Pet Parents:

First of all, we want to thank you for your patience and understanding these past 15 months as we navigated through providing you and your pet the same high-quality veterinary medicine and professionalism as we did prior to our Curbside Concierge Covid protocols. It was so important for us to keep your families as well as our staff as safe as possible. We certainly have missed the in-person interaction and we are pleased to announce that we will no longer require Curbside Concierge service for your pet(s) appointments effective June 7, 2021! However, there are a few key points we would like to convey regarding re-opening for in-clinic appointments:

  • When you arrive for your appointment, kindly call us at 631-271-8383 to check-in. At this point, we will discuss with you whether or not you would like to come in with your pet, but please remain in your car for further instruction. ONLY 1 person will be allowed in with your pet for the appointment (we do make exceptions for end-of-life appointments) and they MUST wear a mask since our exam rooms do not allow for social distancing. Once an exam room is available one of our technicians will call you to discuss the reason for your pet’s visit, and take a brief history for the doctor and then instruct you when to come into the building with your pet.
  • Curbside Concierge appointments are still available should you wish to remain in your car rather than come into our hospital. We understand not everyone may be comfortable coming into the hospital. We offer Facetime for these appointments as well.
  • Pet drop-offs and pickups for procedures, surgeries, and boarding please call upon arrival as well and a team member will coordinate with you to meet you and your pet in the waiting room. We are recommending wearing a mask in our waiting room but not requiring it. We just ask that your pet be on a leash or in a carrier so we can maintain proper social distancing.
  • Medication and food pickups can be accommodated in our waiting room. There is no need to call, you can just come in. Again, we recommend wearing a mask but it is not required and we ask our pet parents to be mindful to only have 3 clients in our waiting room at a time.

Our goal is to make this transition as easy as possible for you and your furry family members. We are excited to be able to go back to a somewhat normal experience for you and your pets when you visit our practice! As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at 631-271-8383.

Sincerely,

The Doctors and Staff at Dix Hills Animal Hospital
